KARAKORUM, HIMALAYA AND HINDUKUSH JEEP SAFARI

Pakistan Offers a collection of adventurous safaris. Baluchistan a nomadic formidable land offers a wonderful landscape. A camel safari in this region is an unbelievable experience, especially in the gorge of Bolan, which is a rocky desert. A jeep and camel safari in this region is just the right blend to capture the spirit of adventure. One may experience a unique adventure in River Indus & the Cholistan Desert by undertaking a boat and camel safari. Horse and Pony safaris can be wonderful across Deosai Plains, Shandur Pass and Kaghan Valley. Jeep Safaris in the Northern Areas can prove to be an exotic experience especially in the regions of Hunza, Gilgit, Skardu, Shandur, Sust etc.

ITINERARY

Day 01:
Arrive at Islamabad airport and transfer to the hotel.
Day 02: Islamabad / Dir (approx 7 hrs driving) Overnight Dir.
Day 03: Drive to Kalash Valley. (7 hrs driving) Overnight camping in Bumburet.
Day 04: Drive to Shandur pass. The pass, 3734M is blocked by snow for msot of the year, but in summer its flat top is pastureland and two small lake make beautiful spot Shandur is famous for its polo match between Gilgit and Chital. overnight camping at Shandur.

Day 05: Drive through Pandur valley to Gilgit. Gilgit is the largest marketplace for hundreds of kilometers in any direction, home of the polo game, there are usually at least a practice match, mostly afternoon.

Day 06: Morning visit to the seventh century Kargah Buddha just out side Gilgit. Drive to Passu. On the way you can see the fields and orchards of Hunza Vallley and view of Rakaposhi (7788m). Hunza is also famous for long lively of its inhabitant. Overnight Passu.

Day 07: Morning after breakfast drive to Hunza Valley, overnight stay in Karimabad.
Day 08: Excursion to Khunjerab Pass (4733m) and drive back to Passu, (approx 7 hrs driving). Overnight Passu.

Day 09: Explore Shimshal Valley by Jeep. (3 hrs driving) Afternoon excursion of Shimshal vilage. Overnight at Shimshal Vilage Guest House.

Day 10: Drive to Hunza, Sightseeing in Karimabad. Overnight Karimabad.
Day 11: Drive Hunza / Skardu. Following the Indus River we inter Skardu. From spring to autumn the valley is more attractive, the field and orchards coming alive with the colors in stark contrast to the gray surrounding.

Day 12: Traveling by jeep over the sandy desert to Shigar Valley. Abroad and fertile valley its orchards produce some of the best fruits including apricot, mulberry, apple, plums, and ruts. Shiger has some very impressive old wooden houses and very pleasant area to wander. Return to Skardu.

Day 13: Leave Skardu Village, passing Satpara Lake with its beautiful deep waters, to reach the pass into the Deosai Plateau which for a months covered in beautiful wild flowers. Overnight in camp.

Day 14: Skardu / Deosai (4-5 hrs). Overnight camping.
Day 15: Drive to Rama, Astor valley. (Approx.5-6 hrs). Overnight camping.
Day 16: Excursion to Rama Lake (3482 m). From here you can view Chongra Mountain, part of Naga Parbat. And then drive back to Chilas. Overnight chilas.
 
Day 17: Drive to Islamabad/Rawalpindi via Taxila archaeological site (09-10 hrs drive).
Day 18: City tour of Islamabad / Rawalpindi. And then transfer to the airport for flight.
