GREAT PAKISTAN CULTURAL EXPERIENCE TOUR

A trip through Pakistan is face to face encounter with a fascinating land that has withstood countless invasions and preserved the essence of its conquerors on the form of present day monuments and archaeological heritage.

See for yourself the excavated sites at Moenjodaro and Taxila – seats of the ancients Indus Valley and Gandhara civilizations; the architectural monuments of the Moghul; the Khyber Pass – the historic inlet to South Asia – or the ancient unchanging traditions of the Kafir Kalash of the Chitral Valley. For those with an intrinsic lover of mountains, Pakistan offers pleasure of its northern mountain ranges, the Himalayas, the Hindukush and the Karakorum – a mountain wonderland unrivalled in the entire world with such formidable peaks as the K-2, the Nanga Parbat, the Rakaposhi, and the Trichmir. ITINERARY

Day 01:
Arrival Karachi Check in Hotel. Afternoon at Leisure. Overnight stay in hotel.

Day 02: City tour to Karachi – tour includes visit to Karachi Museum and visit to the Mausoleum of Quid-e-Azam as well as a drive around Clifton beaches. In the afternoon a tour of the shopping center is arranged. Alternate available to the shopping centers:
A) Trip to Beachs
B) Crab Fishing in the Karachi Harbour.
Overnight stay in hotel.

Day 03: Morning flight to Moenjodaro to the ruins of Indus Valley civilization which date back to 5000 years. Late afternoon return to Karachi. Overnight stay in hotel.

Day 04: Depart for Chokundi Tombs, Bombore and Thatta by roa. Thatta has the largest necropolis in the world with beautifully engraved sandstones on the graves-excellent specimens of art motifs – en route visit Halijee Lake (in winter this lake is one of Asia’s biggest water fowl sanctuaries). Overnight stay at hotel.

Day 05: Early morning departure by road for Karachi airport to take flight for Lahore, arrival at Lahore and check in at hotel. After city tour of the great Moghal city. Tour includes visit to Shalimar Garden and the Lahore Museum. Overnight stay at hotel.

Day 06:
Full day sightseeing of Lahore. Tour includes a visit to Badshahi Mosque and the Lahore fort as well as Jehangir’s and Noor Jehan Mausoleum. Jehangir’s Mausoleum is perfect specimen of great Mohgul architecture. In the afternoon visit Wazir Khan Mosque inside the Delhi gate and tour of Anarkali Bazaar via fort. Overnight stay in hotel.

Day 07:
Early morning drive by coach to Islamabad/Rawalpindi, check in hotel. Afternoon city tour of Rawalpindi/Islamabad. Tour includes the exciting new capital of Pakistan and the low hills of Margalla where spectacular views of the twin cities are available and bustling bazaar of Rawalpindi. Overnight stay in hotel.

Day 08: Departure by coach to Peshwar, en route visit Taxila, visit includes, Taxila Museum, Buddhist sites of importance. Continue drive to Peshawar. After arrival at hotel, at afternoon tour of great Peshawar city; tour includes, visit to Qisa Khani Bazaar, also known as the street of story tellers, Mohabat Khan mosque and fort of Bala Hisar. Overnight stay in hotel.

Day 09: Tour of Famous Khyber Pass through which marched all great Conquerors to Indo Pakistan plains (in case Khyber pass can not be visited than a tour of Peshawar and its environs will be arranged). Overnight stay in hotel.

Day 10: Departure by coach for Swat, en route stop at Takht-e-bhai which is an ancient Buddhist monastery dating back 540 AD. Check in at hotel. Afternoon visit to archeological sides of Swat, which includes Swat Museum, Butkaras and swat Bazaar. Overnight stay in hotel.

Day 11: In the morning we have time to again explore Swat and its surroundings, at afternoon departure by coach over Shangla pass to Besham overnight in Hotel.

Day 12: Departure by coach to Gilgit, en route stop at Shatial and Chilas to see the rock carvings. Overnights stay in hotel.

Day 13: Departure for Hunza. Sightseeing all around the route which is surrounded by the some of tallest mountains in the world and dominated by the Rakaposhi Peak (7787m). Hunza is itself known for the longevity of the residents. Groups visits famous forts. Overnight stay in hotel.

Day 14: Full day excursion to Khunjerab border (Pak-China), en route explore quaint little village Gulmit which has an incredible “orginal’ little museum a typical Polo filed and a school and at evening drive back to Passu for overnight stay.

Day 15: Departure for Gilgit, afternoon witness Polo match especially arranged for the group. Polo originated in Gilgit and is found there in its roughest form of still.

Day 16: Day trip to Naltar with packed lunches, at evening drive back to Gilgit for overnight stay.
Day 17: Drive to Besham by coach, transfer to hotel for overnight stay.
Day 18: Full day excursion to Murree hills and evening drive back to Rawalpindi/Islamabad. Overnight stay in hotel.

Day 19: Transfer to Islamabad international airport for onward flight. (End of tour)
