ITINERARY


Day 01: Arrival at Islamabad.

Day 02: Leave for Besham by road via Karakorum Highwy (The Old Silk Route) 6-7 hours drive). En route visit Taxila Museum (1 hour drive up to Taxila). The modern town of Taxila is 35 km from Islamabad. Most of the archeological site at Taxila (600 BC-500 AD) are located around Taxila Museum. For over 100 years, Taxila remained fomous as a center of learning in respect of Gandhara art of sculpture, education and Budhism in the days of Buddhist glory. There are over 50 archeological sites scattered in a radius of 30 km around Taxila. Some of the mot important sites are include Dharamarijika, Stupa and Monestry (300 BC-200 AD), Bhir Mound (600 BC-200 AD), Sirkap (200 BC – 600 AD), Jundial Temple (250 BC), and Juallian Monastery (200-600 AD). Overnight stay at hotel.

Day 03: Departure for Gilgit (8 hours drive), en route visit the pre-historic rock inscription at Shatial and Chilas. Arrive at Gilgit. Overnight stay at Gilgit.

Day 04: Morning sightseeing of Gilgit, leave for Hunza Valley after lunch (3 hurs drive). Overnight stay in Karimabad.

Day 05: Morning visit Altit and Baltit Forts (600 years old). At afternoon walk in the archards, garden, walk around the water channel etc. overnight stay in hotel.

Day 06: Morning leave for Sust village which is the last check post before enter into China. Overnight Stay in hotel.

Day 07: Leave for Tashghurgan via Khunjerab Pass (16000 ft)-the first small town on Chinese side. Afternoon visit the old fort (2000 years old). Overnight stay in Hotel.)

Day 08: Leave for Kashgar en route enjoy the sceneries of two historic peaks of Pamir range Muztagh Ata and Kongpur. Lunch at Karakuli Lake. Arrive at Kashgar (5 hours drive). Overnight stay in hotel.

Day 09: Sightseeing of Kashgar City, visit Abakah Hoja Tombs. The Kinddergarten for Minorities, Kashgar Park, The biggest Mosque of China and animal Market. Overnight stay in hotel.

Day 10: Morning visit Sunday market. After lunch leave Tashgurgan for overnight stay.
Day 11: Drive to Karimabad via Khunjerab Pass. Overnight Stay in Karimabad.
Day 12: Karimabad to Gilgit. Overnight stay in hotel.
Day 13: Leave for Besham. Overnight stay in hotel.
Day 14: Leave for Rawalpindi/Islamabad. (End of Tour).
