BATURA TREK

 

Batura Trek, in the region around Passu (2543m) offers some of the best, new and thrilling adventure walking in the entire Northern Areas, from half and full day trips, to short, multi day walks right up to long, strenuous treks, and all within easy reach of the KKH. On hot days come and stand here appreciate the ice drafts off the glacier. Batura Glacier, stretching some 58 kilometers from the Batura Muztagh groups of the peaks to the west, right down to the KKH. It provides breathtaking views of high peaks like Ultar (7388m) Shishpare (7611m), Passu peak (7284m) and other peaks in Shimshal region. Most part of this trek is easy with wild flowers. One of the great impression of this trek is spent time with local Wakhi people especially women with their cattle. They will serve you the yogurt, batter and milk.

Detail Itinerary
 

Day 01 RAWALPINDI/ISLAMABAD:  You will be greeted at airport and transferred to comfortable centrally located hotel. Reminder of the day is free for you to relax and recovered from long flight to Pakistan. in the after noon, for those who desire there will be a tour of Pakistan’s capital Islamabad and bustling bazaar of Rawalpindi. In the evening we have a welcome dinner where you will have the opportunity to meet your guide and other member of group. Overnight stay at hotel.

Day 02 RAWALPINDI – CHILAS:  (Drive & Hotel). Morning after break fast drive 11-12 hrs Chilas on famous Karakorum Highway. En route we will stop for photography, toilet break and lunch at Chatar or Besham. O/N stay at hotel.  

Day 03: CHILAS – PASSU (HUNZA): Drive 4-5 hrs to pass along the Hunza River, en route stop at Rakaposhi (7787m) view point and famous Karimabad (Central Hunza).  From Hunza you can view all probably highest climbing walls in the world and Ultar Peak (7388meters), Diran Peak (7266meters). O/N sty in camp.

Day 04: PASSU – PASSU GHAR: Our first day 4-5 hrs trek will start at Passu and take us to Passu Ghar (3210m). O/N stay in camp.

Day 05: PASSU GHAR – PANTONDAS: Trek 4-5 hrs to Patundas (4100m). This day you will meet you to many locals (Gulkin villages), as they move in the summer up with their animals. O/N stay in camp.

Day 06: PATONDAS: Rest day/relax day. O/N in camp.

Day 07: PATONDAS – YUNZBEN: 6-7 hrs trek Yunzben (2880m). At Yunzben water comes from small pools on the glacier. O/N stay in camp.

Day 08: YUNZBEN – YASHPIRT: 6-7 hrs trek to Yashpirt. This is a beautiful trek through pretty ablation valleys, wild rose and some juniper trees. Locals here tend of yaks, sheep and goats and may invite you to sample delicacies such as fresh cheese, yogurt, milk and batter. O/N stay in camp.

Day 09: YASHPIRT – GUCHESHAM: 6-7 hrs treks will take us to our next camp site Guchesham (3630m). The views of Batura wall from ridge south of Guchesham are spectaculars. O/N stay in camp.

Day 10: GUCHESHAM – LUPDUR: Trek to Lupdur (3870meters). From here you can have the view of Batura Ice Floe, the upper Batura glacier and Kampir Dior (7168meters). 6 to 7 hours trek, overnight in camp.

Day 11: LUPDUR – FATIMA’ IL: 7-8 hrs treks will take us to Fatima’il. O/N stay in camp.

Day 12: FATIMA’IL – CHINA CAMP: 5-7 hrs trek to China camp. Drive by jeep to Karimabad. O/N stay in hotel.

Day 13: KARIMABAD: This is full day of Exploring the mystery and charm of the Hunza Valley. The people here belong to Ismaili sect of Islam and commercial barter transactions are still the norm with them. One of the highlights of this day will be our meeting with the local Hunzakuts who are known for their longevity. We will also visit the famed forts of Baltit and Altit. Overnight stay at hotel.

Day 14- 16: Commence return journey via same route to Islamabad. In the evening transfer to airport for onward journey to their sweet home. End of services.
