Amazing Babusar remained the gateway between Gilgit-Baltistan and other parts of Pakistan before the construction of KKH . All traders used this pass. During the British rule up to 1886, Babusar was the summer camp of the officials and Assistant political Agent of Chilas sub-Division resides in Babusar for four months. Babusar top is located at a distance of 45 Km from KKH. Its height from sea level is 4172m. There are Lush green mountains covered with thin forest in Babusar and there are 3 beautiful lakes surrounding Babusar top namely Kota Lake, Koli Lake and shoti Lake which adds the beauty of this place. This pass is a viewpoint of several beauty places of District Diamer with breathtaking mountains panoramas with including Nanga Parbat the highest mountains ranges. Currently National Highway Authority (NHA) constructed 70 ft wide highway, which linking KKH Chilas to Mansherah Via Babusar.
There is a naturally made highest polo ground in Babusar with lush green grassy plain for camping offers great opportunity for tourists during the summer season
Babusar Polo Cup Festival is held in august of each year. Where Polo teams of Gilgit-Baltistan compete each other and thousands of tourists enjoy this traditional festival. This Polo festival is organized by Tourism Department Gilgit-Baltistan to presser this traditional sport and to attract the tourists towards the area.
